Supergrass unveiled their new album last week at a private party for record shop representatives. The Maker was there and can reveal that the album, "Supergrass", due for release on September 20, is going to disappoint no one.
It's as upbeat as "I Should Coco", as rocking as "In It For The Money", but more cohesive, with some laid-back moments.
The video for the next single, "Moving", was also previewed.It's revealed as a fast-moving collage of scenes, featuring the band in various hotel rooms, lifts and lobbies.
EMI plan to release no less than five singles from the album, the other three of which will probably be "Mary", "Fire Away" [sic] and the anthemic "Jesus Came From Outer Space"
As previously announced, the band play a UK tour in October.
* Supergrass and Mel C are the first acts to announce that they will appear at Radio 1 Live In Manchester, Europe's biggest free, tented music gig. It will be held at Heaton Park on Sunday, September 12.
Last year, the event was held in Cardiff and featured the Manics, Robbie Williams, Ash, Republica and The Divine Comedy.
The rest of Radio 1 will join Mark & Lard in the city for the entire weekend.
Supergrass' Danny Goffey said: "We're really looking forward to playing Radio 1 Live - it's going to be a big one."
Tickets will be given away to listeners in a series of Free Ticket Fridays on the station.
